Leadership (Campus Outreach & Internship)

Team HBV at UCLA works to reach out to our campus community in order to educate fellow Bruins about the dangers of Hepatitis B and to inspire them to become involved in the campaign against the disease. We organize and participate in a variety of on-campus events throughout the year:

Campus Seminars

We collaborate with a diverse array of campus organizations to hold educational seminars focused on Hepatitis B as well as a range of other health outreach topics. Through these seminars, our members have the opportunity to share their passion for Hepatitis B awareness while expanding their personal and professional networks with other students who share similar interests.

Hepatitis B Awareness Week (HBAW)

Our organization holds an annual Hepatitis B Awareness Week on the UCLA campus each spring quarter. This weeklong event incorporates daily activities, including Hepatitis B-related trivia, fun games and prizes, and social media campaigns, into a unified effort to increase campus awareness of Hepatitis B and Team HBV at UCLA’s efforts to combat its impact. The week culminates in an awareness festival held at Bruin Plaza, the heart of the UCLA campus. Our goal is to pique awareness of and interest in our cause by connecting with the campus community through interactive and engaging methods.

Awareness Concert/Symposium

Team HBV at UCLA organized an annual concert/symposium event to raise awareness about Hepatitis B as well as encourage students and other members of our campus community to become involved in health outreach. The event integrated talks from medical speakers, performances by student groups and independent performers, activities, and workshops organized by Team HBV at UCLA in collaboration with other campus organizations, and free food and prizes to create an engaging and meaningful experience for our attendees - one that left a lasting impact on their future interests and endeavors.
