Mentorship

IMG_5441 2.JPG

Team HBV's mentorship is designed to help current members gain mentoring experience thereby exploring their possibility of pursuing a career in public health or education. Mentors are responsible for guiding their mentees and helping with their progress in school and in Team HBV. A mentor will meet with their mentees a few time per quarter to followup with their progress and help answer their concerns in the academics field or life. Once experienced enough with the school and the organization, a mentee can sign up to become a mentor and pick up new members as their mentees.

Not only will this program foster the family aspect of this organization but this will also provide members with mentoring opportunities, which can eventually help them to decide on a possible career path. Moreover, a mentorship experience for our members will help them become more accustomed to life at UCLA and improve their professional networking skills.

Besides the professional aspect of the program, mentors and mentees also establish close friendships. On the picture to the left is one of our mentor-mentee pairings hanging out at an escape room! The mentorship app is opened every Fall quarter and Jade/Blue reveal will take place in the second week. It is one of our favorite events as mentees complete puzzles to find out who their mentors are!
