Team HBV at UCLA is one of the few organizations on campus that offers first-hand clinical experience and direct interaction with healthcare professionals through physician shadowing. To further the education of our members, our shadowing program allows students to observe care under a team of medical specialists at the Pfleger Liver Institute of the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. The team is led by surgical specialist Dr. Steven-Huy Han, MD - a double-board certified hepatologist and gastroenterologist that specializes in clinical trials pertaining to viral hepatitis manifestation and treatment.

       Our members are able to partake in discussions surrounding diagnostics of liver conditions, follow the clinical course of liver conditions and treatments, and further their knowledge of the physiological mechanisms behind which Dr. Han manages the care of each patient.
